The forum will be a new edition of the ‘Grafting Cities’ series, which aims to highlight how cities resemble an ever-evolving tree: adapting to each season, facing challenges to fully embrace sun, wind, and water, yet ultimately bearing new fruit year after year.
This year’s theme, “Rebuilding liveable places”, is about rethinking how we shape our cities and neighbourhoods to make them more liveable, inclusive and resilient. This means adapting to the impacts of climate change, from heatwaves and floods to other growing environmental pressures, while ensuring that everyone can access safe and affordable living conditions. It also means addressing social inequalities and ensuring that the most vulnerable are not left behind. It is about transforming our places so they can better protect people, respond to future challenges and enable everyone to thrive.
During the forum we will share concrete strategies that will help your vibrant cities grow strong and fostering the community.
Since 1990, we have been creating a community and building strong bonds among our members to work towards a climate neutral future. These connections have allowed us to build a network of committed cities to find innovative solutions and make our members feel more confident in their own transition journey.
Our strength lies in our members’ strong commitment to reach climate neutrality in their territories by 2050 and to align their local strategic development with the Paris Agreement.
